Although nearly every male I've ever known has been circumcised, and when asked, they've all said they are glad they were circumcised and have stated  they'd circumcise their male children, I've no doubt in my mind, it largely because their circumcision was as successful as it can be, so they don't view it as mutilation, but,  that's not to say in some cases, who knows how many,  circumcision results in serious mutilation. The other reasons those I know who have been circumcised agree with the practice is because they themselves do not understand it's origins, it has become so normal in our society, the realities of it are never debated publicly, nor do they remember the experience, nor do I think they fully understand the trauma that it caused them.
